Vocational training

Vocational training is a crucial aspect of offender learning and is most effective when based on partnerships between prison industries/ employers, vocational training and education teams (IBID).

Research shows that being in employment is one of the key factors that can reduce the risk of reoffending by between 30-50%. However, examples of good training provision in prisons were all too scarce.Coffey, 2013
